Have you ever wanted to tell a Doctor Who story?
The Doctor Who Project is currently looking for contributors to our Brief Encounters range—short adventures featuring the Doctor’s past incarnations and their companions. Whether you have an idea for a tense historical adventure, a character-driven tale, a light-hearted romp, or a chilling encounter with a classic monster, we’d love to hear from you.
We welcome story proposals from both experienced writers and those looking to make their first contribution to the Project. If you’ve got a great idea and a passion for Doctor Who, we’d encourage you to get in touch.
The Brief Encounters range offers the opportunity to explore untold moments from the Doctor’s travels, filling in the gaps between televised adventures while respecting the established continuity of the series.

DETAILS
Brief Encounters is The Doctor Who Project’s on-going series of original short stories featuring television Doctors 1-7, TDWP Doctors 8-10, and their associated companions.
If you like to write short fiction about past Doctor’s, we’re always on the lookout for new stories to publish under the BE banner.
Story Requirements:
- Stories must be original whilst also fitting within established continuity set in the 1963-89 TV series.
- Stories are approximately in the 5000 words range in length.
Submissions should contain the following information:
- The Doctor and the companion featured in the story.
- Details of key characters/monsters/villains.
- A brief synopsis of the story plot.
Story proposals only need to be 4-6 paragraphs detailing the story plot, characters, setting and any other information you feel would go toward enabling the editorial board making an ideal assessment of your story for publication.
