APR 25/24: NEW EIGHTH & NINTH DOCTOR STORIES FORTHCOMING |
Fans of TDWP will be excited to hear that both the Eighth (Jeremy Banks-Walker) and Ninth (Anton Robbins) Doctors will see two new brand-new Brief Encounters adventures released in the near future.
The Eighth Doctor will be joined by companions Tamara Scott and Grae in FIREDOG a brand-new adventure later this year. Written by longtime TDWP contributor John Swogger (with additional material by Hamish Crawford) where the TARDIS lands the three travelers in the quaint Atlantic town of Howell’s point, Dr. Tyler Rockwell believes his Cluster Acceleration Array will make nuclear fusion a reality. At the same spot in 1327, a rogue graviton thread has landed the Doctor, Grae, and Tamara Scott amid a Viking settlement. In both times, emotions are running high—between Rockwell, his wife Marie, and lab assistant Susan Wendell in the present, and between two rival couples, Erik the Bold and Gudrid, and Eoryn and Bjaerni, in the past. Also raising temperatures are the gruesome murders at nightfall—the work of a mythical beast known as the Firedog. Past and present are colliding, and both will be destroyed unless the Doctor can stop the Firedog’s emergence.
In NO PASARAN the Ninth Doctor arrives during the final days of Spanish Civil War. Written by Evan Semon, this will be Semon’s first published TDWP story. It’s 1939, Spain. The Republican controlled capital of Madrid is beginning to buckle under the weight of its long siege by Nationalist forces. Victory, it seems, could only be achieved by a miracle. That miracle may come in the form of a mysterious visitor, who offers a quick solution to end the conflict. When the Doctor arrives in the besieged capital, will he be able to make sure history stays on its correct course? Or will the Spanish Civil War become a lot bloodier?
Both stories will be released Summer 2024. |
