| MAR 14/26: NEW BRIEF ENCOUNTERS ANNOUNCED "JACK OF ALL TRADES" ARRIVES MARCH 28 |
Fans of Doctor Who and the ever-expanding universe of The Doctor Who Project have a brand-new adventure to look forward to later this month.
On Saturday, March 28, the Project will release a new Brief Encounters story titled “Jack of All Trades” written by Hamish Crawford. The story stars the Eleventh Doctor alongside companion Maggie Weitz, and will act as a prequel to the upcoming Season 46, which begins just three weeks later on April 18.
The adventure also features the formidable Xaul Gertiaars, Chief Justiciar of the Huxley Union—one of the most powerful figures in its rigid, authoritarian society.
Official plot description:
The Huxley Union is a brutal place, and Chief Justiciar Xaul Gertiaars is one of its most formidable figures. Now she has her sights on an audacious criminal who has retrieved one of the Union’s most jealously guarded secrets: the possibility that the Union’s harsh totalitarian society is the result of a malign alien spacecraft beached in a nearby nebula.
Finding a petty thief to aid him, the criminal makes his way to the spacecraft, reckoning its secrets will be child’s play for someone of his calibre. But he has not reckoned on the consciousness still alive within the ship, and its power: it can delve into the mind, and reveal to him that he may be a jack of all trades … but a Master of none.
With secrets buried in a nebula, a mysterious alien intelligence, and the looming presence of the Huxley Union’s iron hand, “Jack of All Trades” promises to be an intriguing lead-in to the events of Season 46.
